UkraineTernopol  - Georgia Adjara  Business Chamber  Forum was held online on May 19. The forum was attended by the Chairman of the  International Investors Association  of Georgia Osman Chalishkan Mzhavnadze. The main goal of the forum was to deepen economic relations and support new business investments. During the meeting, the parties shared information about the importance of establishing new partnership opportunities and jointly implementing various projects.

On April 6, an introductory meeting was held in Tbilisi at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey  The meeting was attended by: Beka Odisharia, Chairman of the Friendship Group with Turkey, members of the Friendship Group, MPs, businessmen, representatives of the diplomatic corps, heads and members of business associations. The meeting was also attended by members of the Investors Association and its chairman Osman Chalishkan Mzhavanadze.

On April 6, Osman Chaliskan Mzhavanadze, Chairman of the International Investors Association of Georgia, paid a visit to the General Director of the IŞBANK Georgia, Mr. Ozan Gur. During the meeting, the sides discussed the economic crisis created in the background. of the pandemic in the world and in our country, the improvement of the investment environment and the implementation of various joint projects in the future.

On April 25,  The Chairman of the International Investors Association of Georgia, Osman Chalishkan Mzhavanadze, attended the morning program on Adjara TV, which was held for Damian and bought pictures on behalf of the Association, thus making a small contribution to Damian's health. 1. What does the diagonal cumulation agreement mean?

This is an agreement that operates between more than two countries if these countries have a free trade agreement with similar rules of production.

Enactment of the principle of diagonal cumulation envisages raw materials imported from Turkey

According to the agreement, products made in Georgia on Turkish raw materials will be considered as Georgian products and will be exported to the EU market where they will be presented with the label "Made in Georgia". I would also like to add that the import of raw materials will increase the variety of products produced and companies will be able to move production to Georgia and no longer have to produce in another country.

3. To what types of production will the diagonal cumulation agreement apply?

Most of all, it concerns the import of raw materials needed for textiles, furniture and construction.

4. What raw materials will be imported from Turkey under the cumulation agreement?

Within the framework of this agreement it will be possible to import all kinds of raw materials to Georgia.

5. Who could import these raw materials?  Only Turkish businessmen and Turkish citizens or Georgian businessmen and Georgian citizens?

Both Turkish and Georgian citizens tried to import raw materials, which they thought would restrict the country's investors and establish joint ventures in the future.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the economic problems created in the background of the pandemic and the ways to solve them, the importance of attracting new investments and the role of mitigation of regulations for the continuation of active economic activity. Turkish Ziraat Bank currently has seven branches in Georgia and plans to open new ones in the future.

The meeting was introductory in nature, with the parties discussing the difficult situation created by the pandemic, the investment climate and the implementation of new investments. We would like to inform you that Guria Express's field of activity is flour trade, flour production. The company has made an investments of six million dollars in Georgia and plans to make additional investments in the future.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the problems created by the pandemic and ways to solve them, important factors in attracting new investments, such as qualified personnel and tax policy, the importance of the diagonal cumulation agreement. The parties also agreed on joint activities and activities in the future.

Both parties discussed about the problems being faced due to the pandemic, the friendly and strategic relations between the two countries, the importance of restoring air traffic and jointly planning various important projects. Commercial Attaches Mr. Erdogan and Mr. Feyza Didem DİRLİK SONGUR also attended  the meeting.  Mr. Osman Çalışkan Mzhavanadze, chairman of the Investors Association, shared information about the activities of the Association and member companies and thanked them for their visit.

They discussed the important factors for improving the investment environment and the need to attract new investments in the region, as well as the implementation of joint measures in the future.
