On November 18, 2011 the Secretary General of International Investors Association Mr. Osman Chalishkan hosted the representatives of USAID. The main goal of the visit was carrying out the joint projects. Within the project “Manpower Training” multi-state colleges in Batumi, Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Ozurgeti will be provided with modern technologies. Besides three types of training programs is planned to be implemented in professional colleges. According to the new developed programs the colleges will be able to give long and short term trainings under business requirements.  Within the program EPI will cooperate with the international company [TC]², which has the wide experience in the cooperation with Textile Industry. After the trainings the certificates will be given the listeners.

On November 17, 2011 International Investors Association of Georgia was visited by the representatives of the company “Oneysan Yapl İnşaat” from Bodrum, Turkey. The Secretary General Mr. Osman Chalishkan hosted the visitors. The aim of the meeting was acquaintance of Georgian legislature, investment environment and tax system. They plan to build 5 star hotel and casino in the future in Batumi.

On November 14 of the current year, the representatives of the member companies gathered at International Investors Association, the reason of the meeting was election of board of governors and trustee board. The session was opened by one of the board of management’s candidates and ex chairman Mr. Cemal Bilgingulluoglu. After the introduction of the agenda, presentation prepared for the General Assembly 2011 was displayed. The nominated candidates won a majority of votes.

On November 14 of the current year, international investors association and its member companies, together with Batumi Mayor visited children’s house in Urekhi. In addition, homeless children living in Urekhi and Makhinjauri Children’s Houses received a gift of 30 thousand GEL from International Investors Association of Georgia, providing 84 children with household goods, winter clothing and footwear. According to the members of Association, the organization is ready to continue its charitable activities and provide support to socially vulnerable segment in the future.

On October 31of the current year, the representatives of USAID visited at the IIA office within the project "“Economic Prosperity Initiative". The meeting was hosted by the Association's Secretary General, Mr. Osman chalishkan. Project Manager of Investment Management Service  Luc  Caltrider spoke about creation of new technologies in agriculture and the ways of its implementation.  Related to the issue “The second Forum of the Greenhouse” will take place on November 3 in Tbilisi.

On October 24 of the current year, International Investors Association became a member of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).  IIA also became the member of ICC Georgia’s Ex Officio Board Member. As a result of membership IIA will network and build business relations with more than hundred other influential member companies of ICC Georgia, will establish relations with key policy makers and appropriate governmental bodies, will daily access to all draft laws being discussed in Parliament and to monitor their impact on business and take necessary action so that interests are preserved, will hold valuable seminars and workshops, place Member Company's advertisements and articles in ICC's quarterly newsletter, most importantly, IIA will become part of a very powerful business organization and therefore will be better protected.
