On 15th of March, 2016. The Secretary General of International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Chalishkan  ( Mzhavanadze ) met with the representatives of Embassy of the Unites States of America Mr. Charles Seten and Mrs. Nia Lomadze  at the office of IIA. The sides talked about economic and business spheres on the introductory meeting, They have discussed plans of future cooperation in Business sphere. Secretary General of IIA provided all the information about Association and its member companies to the representatives of Embassy of America. Also several issues were discussed at the meeting.  At the end of the meeting the sides expressed that fruitful business cooperation with the Association and Embassy of the US of America will continue in the future.

On 14th of March, 2016. The Secretary General of International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Chalishkan (Mzhavanadze) met with the Director of Poti Free Industrial Zone Mr. David Barker. The introductory meeting was held at the office of IIA. The Secretary General of the Association Mr. Osman hosted the guests, the goal of the visit was information exchange and the sides discussed issues of cooperation between two  sides and prospects of strengthening relations, the meeting was also  focused on the region's economic and investment environment. Particularly textile industry of the region, The Secretary General of IIA provided all the information about investment environment in the region to Mr. David Barker. Mr. David spoke about the importance of Poti Fiz. Poti FZ was particularly attractive for textile manufacturing companies since finding/retraining the qualified personnel in Poti are longer a problem - due to the existing school/college that along with many other specializations also trains personnel in this field. The courses are free and funded by the Government of Georgia. Graduated students get relevant certificates. The most important fact is that college is equipped with modern machineries, including sawing machines.  Poti Free Zone is considered as a regional hub, which is attractive for light industries, also for regional trading and companies from heavy industries.

On 11th of March, 2016. The Secretary General of International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Chalishkan met with the Board of Management of Musiad Georgia at the office of IIA.  The sides talked about economic and business spheres on the introductory meeting, and the perspectives how to attract new foreign investments to Georgia Especially in Ajara Region, They have discussed plans of future cooperation in Business sphere. Secretary General of IIA provided all the information about IIA and its member companies. Also several issues were discussed at the meeting.  At the end of the meeting the sides expressed that fruitful business cooperation with the Associations will continue in the future.

On 11th of March, 2016. The Secretary General of International Investors association Of Georgia  Osman Chalishkan met with the president of The Association of  Georgian and Turkish Businessmen – “Gurtiad” – Mr. Kenan Yildirim. The sides talked about economic, Agriculture, trade and tourism spheres on the introductory meeting. They have discussed plans of future cooperation in Business sphere. On the meeting was discussed various important cases, like: FTA legal base, Georgian Tax and Labor Codes, Technical and administrative aspects of implementing Estonian Tax Model, financial and economic results of its execution; issues related to the refinement of the tax administration. Secretary General of IIA provided all the information about IIA and its member companies to the Chairman of “Gurtiad” . Also several issues were discussed at the introductory meeting. At the end of the meeting the sides have exchanged the gifts and expressed that fruitful business cooperation with the Associations will continue in the future.

International Investors Association traditionally continues charity events. Charity action of Health Care Ministry and International Investors Association of Georgia. Socially unprotected 9 members Turmanidze family (six of them are children) have received two boxes of food and personal Hygiene Items by the name of Association. Unknown citizens also helped this family with children’s food and clothes. International Investors Association works not only on to attract of Investment, but actively is involved in Charity Events arrangement, for those who do need our support

Georgian Tax Code, small businesses regulations, customs regulations etc. – these were the topics that were introduced in details to Turkish entrepreneurs in Ajara Autonomous Republic in the meeting with the representatives of the Revenue Service, which was held on March 9, in Batumi. Deputy Head of the Revenue Service, Vakhtang Lashkaridze, the Head of customs department Vladimer Khundadze and the head of Service Department Giorgi Bubuteishvili provided comprehensive responses to all the interesting questions put by the participants.The meeting was held at the initiative of the Consulate - General of the Republic of Turkey in Georgia and aimed at raising awareness of Turkish businessmen in Georgia on the Georgian Tax System. The meeting was attended by the Consulate General of the Turkish Republic in Batumi Mr. Yasin Temizkan, Commercial Attaché of Turkey to Georgia Michael Develioglu, Customs Attaché Ozai Kutlu, International Investors Association of Georgia and representatives of its member companies and also representatives of business circles.

On 2nd of March, 2016 The Secretary General of International Investors association of Georgia  Osman Chalishkan met with the General Consul of Iran Mr. Hosein Mashhadi  at the Office of IIA. The sides talked about economic, Agriculture, trade and tourism spheres, they have also discussed plans of future cooperation in Business sphere, especially to invite Iranian companies in Batumi and arrange conference to deepening future cooperation between two countries. Secretary General of IIA provided all the information about IIA and its member companies to Consul of Iran. Also several issues were discussed at the meeting. Among them were issues on deepening cooperation in economic, Agriculture, trade and tourism spheres. The Consul expressed his interest on Iranian investments in Ajara. Also he expressed desire to bring Iranian businessmen to Ajara in order to study the region's tourism potential.  At the end of the meeting the sides have exchanged the gifts and expressed that fruitful business cooperation with General Consul of Iran and International Investors Association will continue in the future.

Official delegation of Ajara AR Government led by the Chairman Archil Khabadze paid an official visit to Wroclaw, Poland on February 25-29. The main purpose of the meeting was to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the Lower Silesia and Ajara AR Government. Cooperation with various regions of Poland has been managed successfully for a long time. Economic Forum ‘Wroclaw-Batumi 2016’ was held in order to promote cooperation between Polish and Georgian business circles. Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara was involved in tourism fair in Wroclaw for the first time. The fair was opened by Marshal of Lower Silesia Caesar pshibilsky and the Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze. The days of Adjara were held in an exhibition space, in which ensembles of ‘Batumi’ and ‘Khorumi’ participated. It should be noted that the City of Wroclaw was named as the European Capital of Culture in 2016 which further increases the importance and the ability of collaboration between Wroclaw-Batumi. Cooperation has been already planned between Batumi Drama Theatre and Theatre of Wroclaw - Legnitsa. The rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University met senior officials of Wroclaw Higher Bank School. Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze and the Marshal of Lower Silesia Caesar pshibilsky held a Joint Press Conference at the Wroclaw Business Center in the frames of an official visit. Heads of two regions talked about the cooperation recently started between two regions and planned events. Marshal of the Lower Silesia expressed his satisfaction towards the launch of multilateral relations. ‘I am pleased that the relationship between us started in tourism, economy, education and culture directions,’ – he said. ‘I am pleased that the Days of Ajara are being held in the historic town of Poland. Program is really amazing. We participate in the tourism fair of Wroclaw for the first time. We hold this kind of a business forum in an UN member country for the first time as well. Cooperation between our universities and theatres has been already launched. Memorandum of cooperation will be officially signed during these days. Visit is really very varied and interesting. I believe it will also be fruitful,’ – Chairman of Ajara AR Government said. The Press conference was also attended by the Georgian Ambassador to Poland Nikoloz Nikolaishvili. The forum participant got further information about Ajara’s investment opportunities from the specially prepared presentation by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara , where they also talked about International Investors Association of Georgia and its member companies.
