“Cooperation between Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan is an excellent example of how the potential of the neighboring countries can be used to contribute in the welfare of their population,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia addressed the representatives of the Georgia-Turkey-Azerbaijan Business Forum held in Istanbul, Turkey. This is the fifth forum of the same format and, according to the Minister, Georgia expects even more investments from it. Georgian Government finds it essential that Turkish and Azeri companies fully acknowledge and benefit from all those advantages that Georgia can offer the interested investors. I should mention that the investments from these two countries during the last five years exceeded 1.5 billion USD, which is another confirmation of good neighboring and close economic cooperation between our countries. We are glad to have number of Turkish and Azeri companies operating on Georgian market. They conduct very successful business and implement important projects in the different fields of economy,” – Giorgi Gakharia noted.  The Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the visit of the Georgian Delegation to the Forum. Along the Forum, Ministers of three states  held a face-to-face meetings and discussed different topical issues including transport and railway.   So called B2B meetings are also scheduled in the framework of the Forum and Georgian businesspersons had the opportunity to meet and arrange further partnership with their Turkish and Azeri colleagues.  Panels of the Forum are defined in compliance with the interests of Georgian companies. At this point, the most topical issues cover railway, tourism, insurance, consumer goods industry, medical and spa tourism, pharmaceutical industry, medical services, fishery, caviar production, etc. “Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan” Business forum attended the Chairman of International investors Association of Georgia, the Secretary General and member companies’ representatives of Association. There was held  Preliminarily planned bilateral meetings, the Secretary General of the International Investors Association provided all the useful information to the interested Investors from Turkey and Azerbaijan  and investment opportunities on Georgia and Ajara Region.

On 8th of February, 2017. The Secretary General of International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Chalishkan (Mzhavanadze) met with the chairman of Supreme Council of A.R. of Ajara David Gabaidze, The sides talked about economic, Agriculture, trade and tourism spheres on the introductory meeting. They have discussed plans of future cooperation in Business sphere, Secretary General of IIA provided all the information about Association and its member companies to the chairman of Supreme Council of Ajara. Also several issues were discussed at the introductory meeting. Among them were issues on deepening cooperation in economic, Agriculture, trade and tourism spheres. The Association was established on July 15, 2009. The International Investors Association is a non-profitable legal entity. The Association is one of the largest investors’ organizations in Georgia. IIA members represent large companies from different sectors of businesses, such as: textile industry, food production, construction and construction materials, banking and finance, insurance, hotels and other. The total amount of association member companies’ investments till today reaches approximately 855 million USD. The total amount of association member companies’ future investment projects reaches approximately 600 million USD. The total number of association member companies’ employment till today reaches about 18 600 employees. Promotion of business environment of Georgia. Showing Georgia to the best advantage in international scene, as a country having attractive investment environment. Lobbying of the Association member companies in the local and central governments. Research and analysis of the Association member companies’ problems and their presentation in the appropriate public authorities. Providing free advising services (legal, accounting, banking, business) To inform Associaton members about changes of Georgian Laws and Regulations. PR of member companies in Georgia and abroad. Association mission is to Promotion of business environment of Georgia. Showing Georgia to the best advantage in international scene, as a country having attractive investment environment.
