"Competence centers for the development of cruise tourism in the Black Sea region" –In the frames of the European Union project, coordination meetings began in Batumi. EU, Ukraine and Georgia universities, professors, students, public and private agencies working in the field of tourism, exchange accumulated experience with each other in this field. In the field of the common interests in education of the Batumi Maritime Academy and Cruise tourism development, Chairman of the Ajara Tourism Department, the Guides Association and the International Investors Association of Georgia signed a memorandum. The memorandum was signed by the deputy Rector of Batumi Maritime Academy Abdul Kakhidze, the director of Guides Association of Ajara Teona Zoidze, the Deputy Chief of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara Sopho Lazishvili and the Secretary General of International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Mzhavanadze. The aim of the memorandum is to promote the development of tourism and to implement joint educational projects.

International Investors Association of Georgia hosted Turkey's Economic Relations Board Members (DEIK) PDF Print E-mail

On 24 August, 2016, International Investors Association was visited by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK),  Delegation was in Ajara for working visit. The meeting was held by the organizing of Investors Association, the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), headed by the chairman of DEIK’s Turkish-Georgia Business Council Cemal Yangın. The meeting was also attended by the Consul General of Turkish Republic in Batumi Mr. Yasin Temizkan, The representatives of Batiad, Batsiad  and Musiad Georgia, and the representatives of IIA member companies. At the meeting it was noted that Turkey is the most important trade partner of Georgia. Also, emphasized the importance of current projects about investment and tourism in the region and future perspectives of cooperation in these fields. Participants of the meeting also talked about the fact of the cooperation between the business sector of Georgia and Turkey has a great importance for the region's economic development. The sides have discussed plans of future cooperation in Business sphere, Also several issues were discussed at the meeting. Among them were issues on deepening cooperation in economic and trade spheres and the main emphasis were placed on Georgia’s exports. The Turkish party expressed its gratitude for support of Georgia in events on July 15, at coup attempt. " Turkish businessmen met with great joy to this mentioned position , this was unprecedented support that one country may express against another " - stated the chairman of DEIK’s Turkish-Georgia Business Council Cemal Yangın.

The Chairman of the Government of Ajara Zurab Pataradze met with the representatives of Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), they were in Ajara Region on a working visit.  The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Agriculture of Ajara  Lasha Komakhidze, the Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara Ramaz Bolkvadze, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara Sulkhan Khalvashi and the head of International Relations Department of Ajara Khatuna Nakeuri. The Turkish Delegation was headed by the chairman of DEIK’s Turkish-Georgia Business Council Cemal Yangın. The meeting was also attended by the Consul General of Turkish Republic in Batumi Mr. Yasin Temizkan, Secretary General of International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Chalishkan (Mzhavanadze) and other members. At the meeting it was noted that Turkey is the most important trade partner of Georgia. The investments and tourism were underlined as important spheres of cooperation. The parties underlined that cooperation between Turkey and Georgia are playing an important role for the regional economic development.  The Turkish party expressed its gratitude for support of Georgia in events on July 15, at coup attempt. The Chairman of Ajara Government Zurab Pataradze expressed his sorrow for an increasing number of terrorist attacks which was happened lately in Turkey.  "Turkey is the partner country for Georgia and the projects which are under way at the present time in our region are very important. It was planned to hold business forums in both countries. We are interested for entering the Turkish investors in our region. at the meeting they also discussed the current and future investment projects. I think it was very important and productive meeting which encourages the development of economic relations between two countries "- said Mr. Zurab  Pataradze at the end of meeting.

A delegation from one of the leading business organizations in Turkey visited Georgia to pave the way for developing bilateral economic, commercial, industrial and financial relations. Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili welcomed the guests from the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), headed by the chairman of DEIK’s Turkish-Georgia Business Council Cemal Yangın. The questions of bilateral trade-economic relations were discussed at the meeting. Turkey is a biggest trade partner of Georgia. The investments and tourism were underlined as important spheres of cooperation. The parties underlined that cooperation between Turkey and Georgia are playing an important role for the regional economic development.  The Turkish party expressed its gratitude for support of Georgia in events on July 15, at coup attempt. Turkish guests and Georgian officials agreed strengthening cooperation between Georgian and Turkish business sectors was important for developing the regional economy. On another note Yangin thanked the Georgian Government and Prime Minister for reacting to the attempted military coup in Turkey. He stressed it was "very important” for Georgia that the democratically elected government of Turkey was not under threat. The Turkish business sector was very satisfied and happy with the reaction of Georgia’s Government. This was an unprecedented act of support that one country could express towards the other country,” said Yangin. Georgian and Turkish sides both praised the increasing tourism and investment ties. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia  Zeki Levent Gumrukchu, the Chairman of National Investment Agency of Georgia Giorgi Pertaia and the Chairman of Georgian and Turkish Business Association Kenan Yildirim.
