Small Hydro Power Plant (SHP) Presentation Print

On September 11 at 11:00, near the river Lekhva in the village Dagva, Kobuleti, Small Hydro Power Plant was set in operation. The Company “Ajara Textile” was the organizer of the mentioned event and the officials of Adjara Autonomous Republic Government, “Ajara Textile” partner businessmen from Malaysia and Singapore and private sector attended  the event. The property was purchased by the company “Ajara Textile” last year and was reconstructed. The company installed a new generator to the property for power supply. This modern technical equipment makes it possible to produce 100 KWH energy per an hour. 4 people are employed. There are about 150 Puma’s factories in the world and only “Ajara Textile” Company operates its own hydro power plant. The event was welcomed by the Turkish investor Mr. Cemal Bilgingulluoglu - owner of the company “Ajara Textile”. He says:  “Georgia’s energy sector is stable and successfully developing, there is great potential in this sector. The country is rich in small and large-sized rivers and thus, the use of hydro resources and the construction of hydro power plants will be a significant profit for the economy of Georgia and private sector. The setting in operation of the hydro plant on the river Lekhva means that, in Adjara region, particularly in Kobuleti, industrial enterprises and local residents will receive additional 100 kilowatt power energy and their energy security will be provided.”
