The Chairman of the International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Chalishkan Mzhavanadze, held an online meeting with Davit Kochiashvili, an expert on legal issues at the Office of the Business Ombudsman of Georgia, and Giorgi Kervalishvili, a business analyst, regarding the increased electricity tariff. During the meeting, the parties discussed the impact of increased tariffs on textile companies. During the meeting, the parties noted how much the increased tariff has an impact on new investments in Georgia and also poses a great threat to textile companies to increase prices for manufactured products in the future. The parties discussed how and in what way it is possible to solve the problem related to the increase of electricity tariffs for textile companies. Ms. Nino, Acting Business Ombudsman of Georgia, was not able to attend the meeting due to her busy schedule, however, Mr. David noted that she would provide Ms. Nino with full information on the issues and decisions discussed at the online meeting. The chairman of the association noted that the increased electricity tariff threatens the entry of new investments in Georgia and the investment of foreign investors in Georgia.
