An agreement between the governments of Georgia and Turkey about crossing the border  with simplified ways  took effect on 10 December, 2011.Citizens of Georgia, who have new electronic, Georgian and English language ID cards of Georgian citizenship complying international standards, will be able to travel between Georgia and Turkey only by these ID cards. Turkish citizens can also across the border by using the same ID cards. Protocol “between Georgia and Turkey Republic governments about changes and amendments to visa agreement on April 4, 1996” provides free movements (without having visa) for Georgian citizens on the territory of Turkey during 90 days, in the case of having the following documents:

1. National Identity card (International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) with 9303 document and its attachment under the standards-New Identity Card, ID card).

2. Passport of Georgian citizen

3. Sailor book (performing their duties, the crew’s schedule or the statement of their existence)

4. The certificate of aircraft crew member (performing the duties; Absence of the general declaration or a light request. International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) with 9303 document and its attachment under the standards)

5. Travel card to return in Georgia
