International Investors Associassion was visited by economy consulter Charles Veter of American embassy, on 5 February, 2013. The guest was taken by Mr.Osman Chalishkan. The purpose of the meeting was the acquaintance. The embassy representative was interested in with situation after the change of government. Mr. Osman Chalishkan talked about the association itself, the investors and the future plans. As well as there was discussed the issue of Draft Labor Code. Association intends to continue its cooperation with the Embassy in the future.

The secretary general of international investors associassion, Mr. Osman Chalishkan had business meeting with representative of “Burger King” company, Mr. Can Sepkin. During the meeting they changed information. The main purpose of the meeting was the investors’ environment and investing for the future. The meeting was successful. There should be opened a “Burger King” restaurant, in Ajara.

On January 16, 2013 in Batumi Georgian Employer’s Association held the working meeting with the entrepreneurs of Ajara regarding the Labor Code amendments. The International Investors Association and business representatives attended the meeting. The discussion was focused on some articles of Georgia Organic Law “on the labor code” amendments. The representatives think that draft laws prepared by the parliamentary committees are not subtle. On their opinion, join working on every dispute issue is necessary, for the amendments to be acceptable for both sides.  According to representatives of Employer’s Association, the bill requires improvement and they will send their remarks in a written form to the parliament in a week.

On January 12, 2013 Ozel Turkiye beyazay association and medical association “Tana” signed memorandum of cooperation. According to the memorandum, Ozel Turkiye beyazay association will help the disabled children of the medical association “Tana”. The memorandum was signed by the chairman of the Ozel Turkiye beyazay association Mr. Lokman Aivas and the chairman of the “Tana” medical association Mrs. Nana Sakvarelidze. The event was attended by three members of parliament from Turkey and from the Georgian side government representatives.  Besides, the chairman of international investors association Mr. Jemal Bilgingulluoglu and members attended the meeting. The idea of the signature of the memorandum was expressed by International Investors Association on December 28, 2011, after the charity event, which was organized by the association. Within the event the disabled children were given the household inventory and various toys.

The Secretary General of International Investors Association Mr. Osman Chalishkan summarized year 2012 in TV show “Vector of time”. The speech was mostly focused on country investment environment and the future plans of the association. He said that the business representatives of Turkey Republic interested in Ajara investment environment and investments were mostly made in textile and construction in 2012. Mr. Osman spoke about the association that it has 23 member companies and the main purpose is to attract more investments and support the investors to improve-develop business. In addition, he said nowadays the country has favorable conditions to invest, strategic geographic location, stable macroeconomic environment, low taxes, liberal trade regimes, simplifying licensing and permitting procedures, business friendly environment, diverse investment sectors. According to his opinion how to be more attractive business environment in Georgia to invest, the negotiations related to the issue are underway, the government is ready to support the development of the business in the country. Investors Association along with ICC Georgia is actively involved in the amendments and simplification of tax and labor codes. As for future plans of the association in 2013 are to promote the employment of more employees, attract more investments and support business representatives to develop business.
