Business Forum ‘Minsk-Batumi’ PDF Print E-mail

Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze went on a business trip to Belarus. Business Forum ‘Minsk-Batumi’ was held on 20th of November in Minsk. The Chairman held meetings with the Prime Minister of Belarus Mr. Andrey Kobiakov, heads of Executive Committee of Brest and investors interested in the region of Ajara. Meeting with the Chairman of Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Michael Myatlikov was held on 19th of November. Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze together with Georgian delegation members  personally presented regulations necessary for starting business, region’s investment potential and privatization targets to foreign partners. The forum participant will get further information about Ajara’s investment opportunities from the specially prepared presentation by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara. Presentations presented by the representatives of Tourism and Resorts Department of Ajara and Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara. In addition, official visit of private companies’ representatives acting in Ajara in building, tourism and logistic spheres was also held in Minsk. They shared experience with foreign investors. Secretary General Mr.Osman Chalishkan ( Mjavanadze ) of International Investors Association of Georgia and Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ajara Mr. Tamaz Shavadze  were  also involved in the event. Private meeting between businessmen were  planned after the presentations that contributed to business relations development between Georgian and Belarus companies. Events were co-organized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara, Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Embassy of Georgia in Belarus Republic. Together with the Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze, the Business Forums was also attended by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara David Baladze, Minister of Agriculture of Ajara Zaur Phutkaradze, Head of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara Mamia Berdzenishvili and other officials. Georgian delegation  left the Republic of Belarus on November 21.

5th International Donor Conference Ajara – Cooperation for Growth opened in Batumi PDF Print E-mail

Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze opened the 5th International Donor Conference Ajara – Cooperation for Growth. Representatives of Government Administration and Office of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration also addressed the audience. International Conference takes place at Sheraton Batumi Hotel. The Conference is held for the fifth time and formed platform for annual meetings and discussions of Ajara AR Government, international organizations and diplomatic corps. The Conference brings together more than 100 representatives from 16 countries. Sectoral presentations presented the importance of ongoing and completed projects. Ongoing activities and those to be implemented were also reviewed. Sharing experience, deepening cooperation with foreign partners and presenting impulses of our region’s future initiatives are the main objectives of the 5th International Donor Conference. International Investors association also attended at the Donor International Conference.

“Istanbul - Batumi” - Business forum PDF Print E-mail

The Investment Forum "Istanbul-Batumi", organized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara Autonomous Republic, was opened today in Istanbul at the conference hall of the local Chamber of Commerce. It was attended by over 120 participants. Investment Forum was organized with the support and cooperation of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Consulate of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey, The International Investors Association and Ajara Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum was also attended by the leading Turkish investors, representatives of various large companies and other senior officials. Representatives of the Government of Ajara A.R. held bilateral meetings with investors and discuss their future business plans related to Batumi.  With special presentation, the representative of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara A.R. introduced forum participants with the investment potential of Ajara region, objects of privatization and regulation of starting/doing a business in Georgia. The forum guests were also invited to watch promotional-investment video clip about Ajara region. Representative of Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara also made a presentation about the tourism opportunities of the region. In the framework of the forum, Georgian and Turkish private companies, representing in particular construction, tourism and logistics sectors, took a part in the B2B meetings where they shared their experiences in doing business in respective countries and set future plans of mutual cooperation.  Business-forum “Istanbul- Batumi” may be held under initiative of Turkey side in May. Before that 200 –members delegation may visit Ajara. Information about return visit became known during meeting with head of Chamber of Commerce of Turkey. Archil Khabadze has informed the h host side with economic and investment potential of the region. Prospects of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was also discussed. Head of the region declared that Ajara region must become famous and successful not only from the tourist point of view and hotel business, but as transit region. Mr. Osman Chalishkan ( Mjavanadze) The Secretary General of International Investors Association and its Member companies representatives also attended Istanbul-Batumi Business forum, they made presentations  about the investment projects which are  implemented and  planned in the nearest future, they also held B2B meetings with large -scale investors of Turkey and representatives of various companies.
